The Prophetic Destiny Of America

Indeed, a few men rule the world! Only five (5) Supreme Court Justices in USA changed the history of America permanently. No, not just America, but a large portion of the world. Having nationally adopted, promoted and forced the entrenchment of same sex marriage in America, other nations under the influence of America would be under pressure to adopt the same ruling. This ruling was a manifestation of the degradation of America and her irreversible descent into the abyss of godlessness. In this article, we address the question, of what prophetic significance is this journey into the abyss of ungodliness? Of what prophetic significance is the official rejection of God by America?

What this prophecy is not

This declaration of Jesus Christ did not imply that Israel was rejected forever. Jesus Christ said in another place that Jerusalem shall be trampled under by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are over (Luke 21:24). Apostle Paul taught the Church at Rome that a deliverer shall arise out of Jacob and the whole of Israel shall be saved (Rom.11:25,26). In effect, the declaration of Jesus Christ that is stated above would run its course during the days of the Gentiles. It is something that has a definite end.

“… given to a nation ...”

In this verse (Matt.21:43), the word nation was used in the singular. The Greek rendering is “ethnos” and means, a people (a nation), race.

In the first application, this race of people would be identified as the Church. I mean, all believers in Christ Jesus who hail from all nations of the earth, including Israel. In 1Cor.10:32, Apostle Paul identified three races on earth, which are, the Jews, the Gentiles and the Church of God. Apostle Peter described the body of believers as a holy nation (1 Pet.2:9). “But you are A CHOSEN RACE, A royal PRIESTHOOD, A HOLY NATION, A PEOPLE FOR God's OWN POSSESSION, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light …” The saints of God are a chosen race, a holy nation, a people called out by God. They received this mercy because Israel rejected the Gospel of the Kingdom.

A literal Nation?

Another application of that declaration is that, just as Israel was a nation, there would be another nation, a godly nation that would receive the Gospel of the Kingdom, propagate it and receive God’s blessings for it. And that nation is the United States of America. No other nation has helped the propagation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ as much as America. They were known as a Christian nation, God's own people. Their motto, “In God We Trust” was a reflection of the foundation and structure of their society. And God blessed them for that. Needless to reiterate the dominance and success of America in all fields of human endeavor! Any human invention not linked to America is second grade! Nations of the earth buckle for fear of America. So dominant was Israel also in their days.

USA and Israel: Prophetic Parallels

The declaration of Jesus Christ placed America in a prophetic parallel with Israel. That is to say, the stages Israel went through, which culminated in their temporary rejection by God are similar to the stages America would go through, which would also culminate, not just in their rejection, but also in the rejection of the Gentile race. Many writers have compared Israel with USA and drawn out their similarities in political structure, religious worship, social ethics, work ethics and legal system, but one thing these writers did not point out, which I would like to emphasize is that, this parallelism exists because of the declaration of Jesus Christ about America, even before the nation of America was born.

There is scarcely any other nation in the world since the death and resurrection of Christ that fits this description better than America. Just as Israel had leaders in the early days of their nationhood who lead the nation to seek God and fear God, so did America have leaders who taught the nation to seek God and entrenched the fear of God in their public services. Just as Israel was built on the Old Testament, America was built on the Bible. Ron Lipsman,1 Professor Emeritus of Mathematics at the University of Maryland, made a good comparison between Israel and USA. In his article titled, “Nine Remarkable Similarities between America and Israel; and One Critical Difference” he stated that one of those similarities is Biblical Society. He said, “The US and Israel are both what I would call ‘biblical societies’ – in the following sense. The Bible, the Old Testament represents a deal that the ancient Israelis made with God more than three thousand years ago – a deal which, incidentally, they viewed as binding on their descendants. The Jews would obey all of God’s commandments and in so doing bring holiness to the world and be a light unto the nations, thus serving God’s purpose of having mankind perfect the world. In return God would make the Jews a great nation that would enjoy peace and prosperity. Israel is the modern fulfillment of that biblical pledge. America has trod a similar path. Namely, a quarter millennium ago, the young Americans made a deal with themselves – a deal that they also viewed as binding on their descendants. The Bible in this case was the Constitution. The people pledged to live according to the rules set forth in the sacred document. In return they would receive lives of peace, freedom, prosperity and moral honor. They and their children would continue to know the blessing of freedom.”

Ron Lipsman went further to emphasize that no other nation but America could be compared to Israel. He said, “In sum, it is really quite astounding. I venture the reader will find it difficult to name another country whose components match those of the United States in as many ways as does Israel’s. The obvious candidates, for example Great Britain, Canada, Australia, perhaps France, share a great many common features and bonds with the United States: language, common history, allies in war, trading partners. But they also lack a few key aspects that define the US/Israel bond: biblical society, born in blood, nation of immigrants, bulls-eye on the back.”

Ron Lipman described the backsliding of America as their “Abrogating the founding deal.” He stated, “Now what is the critical difference? It has to do with the second item – abrogation. Sad to say, but the people of the US seem to be losing faith in the fundamental ethos or creed that unified the nation at its birth and for two centuries thereafter. The election of Barack Obama – twice – bears poignant testimony to that loss of faith. If the loss of faith continues – mirroring what has been happening in Western Europe for the last 60 years – then America, as we have known it, is doomed.”

Another writer made similar comparison and wrote, “Indeed, the whole concept of freedom under the rule of law and limited government, both of which used to be the rock solid foundation of the United States of America, are largely borne out of the Bible, not of out Greek philosopher kings like Plato ... The work ethic, informed by an Old Testament Jewish heritage based on strong families and hard work, is what built the United States of America, which used to be envy of the world ... In short, the Jewish people sinned too much against the Mosaic Constitution, which in turn, forfeited their blessings in the promised land, and enslaved them to false ideals and practices, especially with regard to nature worship . .. Americans need to get back to their Bibles, without which, they will ever become more susceptible to mob rule, tyranny, nature worship, senatorial aristocrats, harassing lawyers, lax judges, corporate greed, and Machiavellian politics in general.” The Ignorant Fishermen Blog2.

America – the Star Symbol of the Gentiles

Different nations had risen and fallen but America is different. Unlike the Pagan Roman Empire that crumbled, America would still be one of the strongest world power blocks when Jesus returns. There cannot be a one world government without America. In fact, America would be the prime mover of the New World Order. It is America that would help crown the Antichrist. When America rejects the Gospel of the Kingdom, it is as though the Gentiles have rejected the Gospel.

Just as Jesus lamented over Israel when they rejected the Messiah, and said, “Jerusalem, Jerusalem, who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, the way a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were unwilling. Behold, your house is being left to you desolate!” (Matt.23:37-38), similarly America would be left desolate though not totally destroyed. Russia and China, with their allied nations are going to destroy a large part of America.

The most serious significance of the rejection of the Gospel by the US and by extension, the Gentile race, is that the Gospel would return to Israel. We would discuss this further in the article titled, “The Times of the Gentiles.”

1. Pray for American Christians that God would grant them the grace to withstand the persecution that is approaching.
2. Pray that God would work in the hearts of people to open them up for their salvation.
3. Pray that you would be found ready when Jesus comes.
